  • ... I haz an idea for how this can work - Live competition tagging, rather than going over old tags. (caveat - I can't remember what ideas others had earlier!).

Set out a restricted Tagging Area - eg. The City Square Mile - and have Base Camp at LMNH on Old St. Someone at Base Camp to have a laptop and printer (Mr Aroogah can probably do the honours). I presume LMNH has WiFi? Also - the City will be quiet on a Weekend.

Say for example we have 4 teams (of 2 - 4 players), the Tagging Area is divided into 4 (an area per team), and the first tag must be taken in the area allocated to the team (everyone is provided with an annotated map). Teams rush back to Base Camp and the tags are printed out and stuck up on a board with the team name marked on the print out.

Then it is up to the teams to go tag everyone else's tags. First team with a set of photos up on the board with their bikes at everyone elses' locations wins a bottle of Tag Glory. Use any means necessary to find the tags (bribery, corruption, wifi).

Depends on how many teams there are, and how long we want to play - we can have each team go tag twice at the start, or have more teams.

How about August Bank Holiday Weekend (Aug 27/28th)? As long as the ride isn't in September as we'll be away, I'm happy to organise the maps and any game details - I have a laminator so can print/laminate spoke cards as well (Scoot - throw up a design). If consensus is for this, I'll set up a Rides thread, and put our various rules in the first post.

bump. this format sounds fun, some hectic googling and dashing! could have an award for most imaginative tag photo too.

the idea met with approval but how is the date for people? i could do it. if we get a few names behind the date, a spin-off thread would be in order

  • Thanks, its a toad really not that you can see from that distance. The Leon Britton photo reference was for the oldies that remember Spitting Image.

Cue loads of mad props on following photos, or not. I did get a funny look from the women sitting on the next boat bench as I got toad from my ruksak, I think she speed dialled someone saying there was someone on the loose and maybe they should check their wards for anyone missing, so I did'nt hang about.

  • Repped for the toad ... brilliant!

  • Would it be bad of me to ask whether LongAndWinding enjoyed Dropout taking her up the Oxo Tower?

  • I thought it might be so it would look like you were taking photos of the toad in various places (as people do with toys/props) instead of your bike...

  • Would it be bad of me to ask whether LongAndWinding enjoyed Dropout taking her up the Oxo Tower?

Yes, especially as, although they went round the back, they never actually went up the Oxo Tower.

  • 'Bicycle Tag of Toad'

  • Would it be bad of me to ask whether LongAndWinding enjoyed Dropout taking her up the Oxo Tower?

    I had permission.

  • What brilliant tagging! I had no idea about the boat seats and I go near there everyday - BToB - the thread that just keeps giving!

Could do the Sun or Mon of the bank holiday weekend - am away before then, so couldn't really help with preparations, but more than happy to lend a hand on the day. We probably need a poll / list type thing, don't we ... um, not sure how to start this ...

  • Taggy Cat - List of peeps who can do Sunday of August Bank Holiday Weekend (Aug 28th)

Once the list gets over 8 (4 teams of 2), then I'll start a specific thread.

    1. Aroogah (GamesMaster)
    2. LongAndWinding
    3. KT Bee
    4. OneLess Cardigan
    1. Aroogah (GamesMaster)
    2. LongAndWinding
    3. KT Bee
    4. One Less Cardigan
    5. Scoot
  • a new thread would be a better idea..

  • and a link to it (the new thread)...

I'm interested, but not srue if I can make that date, will have to check with MrsMrDrem and see if she has plans...

I reckon longandwinding (julia?) has got the right idea- make sure there's enough interest here first them set up another thread. And need to makre sure people know what it is- ie not an alleycat/ normal London ride!

  • btw- cyclotr3k (aidan) is in Japan- gets back Sunday the 28th. I'm sure he'd be up for this on the Monday

  • updating list with header (@Katie-Coo - yup, that's me! - we can't do Monday I'm afraid)

  • Clue plz habbi?

  • Yes. It is your bike against a wall. Could be anywhere. Great timing on the ride as well. It is on my birthday and I will be away on holiday.

  • Habbi - Are they small lights? Whoever tags this next ought to do so while it's dark, would make a great photo.
