So he wants a nice whip? Ooooh vicar. :)

Brother would be a monk, or secular member of a religous organisation (such as the brothers of the hospital of St Cross)- vicar would be father, surely?
-
• #4
OK you guys are both weird.
Anyone not weird got a bike for sale?

mate haz a real beatery beater (hi-ten steel) type thing he wants rid of. think it's a falcon. might be about the right size. is proper heap of junk though. broken pedals and all. will ask.
-
• #6
S'long as I can change the broken pedals, that could work - if you could ask that'd be great, cheers.

just checking measurements, make, condition and if he wants anything for it. you might have to wait till tomorrow for all details. will let you know but my impression is that it's fixable and will be very cheap or possibly even free. it's on essex road and will want collecting.

I think it's about a 56 cm...
My brother has a cheap Claud Butler road bike that he's asked me to sell. He hasn't used it in a couple of years, and I don't think it's seen a great deal of mileage. It's one of these, but with a different paint job...which is rather scratched in places.

Fairly low end OEM components but it's all seemed fine when I've ridden it around occasionally.edit:that link no longer works...I'll try and get my parents to take a picture. It's this one, the San Remo at the bottom.

I haz a BSA, the forks might be a bit knackered, it's only single speed, I haven't set the rear brake up yet, it's 54cm I think, but it's got some 105 cracks and front brake, and a dirty harry lever (and a no name one) and an epic lycet old leather saddle with some sweet brand new town bars.
Not sure that's selling it. £70.

spybot, how much is your brother after?
wicksie, any pics? -
• #11
Can get some for you for tomorrow.

Cool. He borrowed my 54cm Langster for a while (yes, it was too big for me) and seemed quite happy on that, so the BSA could work. He also used to have a Claud Butler which he liked so spybot's brother's could work too. I will present him with the range of options and see what he says.

Mummy spybot has taken some pictures. She's got some proper camera pics but we'll have to wait for her to upload those later.
The blurb in that link above would suggest it's a 55cm. I would ask my parents to measure it but it will only end in tears...
I think my brother wanted roughly £100, but I'll let him know about your client's budget. I have some new schwalbe blizzard tyres I bought for it that I'll throw in too as the current ones look a bit iffy due to shed storage.

Aw. Thanks mummy spybot. I've sent him the pics, cheers.

Brother has bought spybot brother's Claud Butler... thanks all for the offers/pics etc.
My reputation as a cycling personal shopper has now spread far and wide, so if anyone has a steel touring bike for sale appropriate for my latest client, who is 6ft, please let me know.

:D
I hope he enjoys it, he looked like a kid who'd just discovered ice cream.

Heh, it was quite cute. He only nearly rode into me once on the way to Herne Hill (and to be fair it was probably cos I was doing something illegal without warning as usual). We're going to ride to Benenden in a few weeks to see my sister :D
I seem to be doing lots of bike shopping for people at the moment. My brother is after a bike now for around £80. Probably a road bike of some description would be best. I think he's about 5'11 so 56-58cm or thereabouts. Anyone got anything suitable?
