• 1973 Raleigh Professional Track Bike

With great regret I have to sell my Raleigh track bike I bought off the forum earlier in the year. I am moving overseas and whilst I had plans to take it with me, it just ain't realistic.

    pics here - http://www.flickr.com/photos/sachsnaps/5981260588/in/photostream/

1973 Raleigh Professional Track, Reynolds 531C.
    Drilled Witcomb fork.
    56cm square
Wheels: low flange Shimano Dura-Ace track hubs, 36 holes, laced to Mavic Open Pros and Vittoria Rubino Pros.

Drive side crank: Campagnolo C-Record Pista (170 length),
Non drive side crank: pre '67 fluted Campagnolo Pista crank (170 length)
    Campagnolo Veloce BB.

    Shimano 105 headset (pitted),
    Nitto stem (stuck)
Chromed North Road bars and Shimano lever
Campagnolo Record dual pivot front brake (barrel adjuster threaded)
    Thompson seatpin 27.2 (stuck)
    Turbo Super

It's an amazing frame. There are the usual chips and scratches in the paint job ( matt black powder coat) and a few minor spots of rust but nothing that won't come off with a little elbow grease. It will no doubt need a little work to sort out the seat post and stem. Pedals and straps in the pics won't come with it but I have some shimano pedals that the buyer can have if they like.

  • Dibs, Pm in a minute

  • Gemma is going to kick your arse....

  • undibs didn't read size, and gemma would kick my arse its true.

  • PM'd

  • dibs, pm on the way.

  • too cheap! Shame about the black paint - I have a very similar 73' Carlton track (same factory) that someone powdercoated a horrible blue

  • For me at least, an original one of these would be the ultimate bike. How rare would a mint condition one be? I've never seen one.

  • bargain

  • Surely its cheap because the seatpost and stem are stuck?

    Nice bike :)

  • easy to remove

  • If I can find a way to pick this up today I will be.. If not then Monday...
