That's one thing I like about the Hope. I've heard a story about someone having a car run over theirs, only damage sustained was a few scratches.Nice one, shall we meet at about 11? I know you students don't like getting up too early (Read: I want a lie in!).
lol, 11 is fine. where about? St Clemens roundabout? City Center?

No can do for a ride this weekend. I've got a trail half marathon in Gower tomorrow its going to be wet windy, cold and muddy! Oh, and as a lay about student I won't be relishing the 05:30 start to get there in time!

Do PhD students count as real students?
Jonas, 11 at St Clements is good for me!

Ok then, 11 it is.
Come on people, we need more company, anyone?

BTW, I propose we do this route:

It is a mix of road and off-road (mostly paved)

sorry guys but route doesn't look so good to me... the road up through Wytham to Swinford doesn't exist, it is a dirt track on private land that you need a permit to access and strictly no bikes - also not really very road bike friendly surface, particularly on the Swinford side.
Also I never knew you could cycle round the reservoir, I thought it was private land and closed off but I could be wrong on that.
Leaving for my run in 5 hours, my kit is still wet and still haven't packed... shit
have a good ride

Ewan was right, we headed up along the Swinford road to have a look and had to turn back. We weren't even allowed to walk bikes along the road.
Also, cycling through the meadow on slick tyres was interesting. But still good to get out and see some bits of Oxford I haven't cycled around before. -

What about this route (taken from cyclingroutesoxford.blogspot.com)? Half 5 at the train station sounds good, I'll wait at the top of the wheelchair ramp (to the right of the main entrance).
did this route with a couple of mates last weekend. was a good ride. good hillage with some great downhills. if you can afford it stop at the nut tree for lunch.

Anyone fancy a ride tomorrow? Nothing massive, I was thinking either a spin around Otmoor or out to Brill. Or if anyne fancies something a little longer I have a good quiet route out over the ridgeway to loop around to Watlington.

Anyone fancy a spin this weekend? I'm thinking about 20-30 miles, probably do a loop through Otmoor on Saturday. Who's in?

Hey, I am working in Oxford at the moment. Gonna start bringing my bike and maybe do London - Oxford one Sunday - anybody care to join me? Or go for a night ride somewhere?

there's a few people on YACF who occasionally ride Oxford to London at night

Heyhey, just wondering if anybody's up for a ride on Saturday morning? The route around Otmoor looks like it could be a nice jaunt.
I'm thinking of meeting 10am at Carfax.

Just moved here and picked up an on-one fixie pompino the other day.
Currently cycling in from Sutton (10 miles) through farmoor which is a nice road most of the way.
Hoping to meet up with others in the area to share some tech, tools and a couple pints.

New here to lfgss, I personally ride a mongoose Maurice, most of the staff in the shop ride single speeds or own at-least 1!
