I've always been quite curious about yours, like mine it just seems to be a random word, now I understand.
When I made my first email address I think I was 11 too, and I used to surf a lot so I tried 'surfergirl' 'beachgirl' 'surf_chick' 'beach_bum' and many other combinations. They were all taken and in my frustration I tried 'surfbabe' which incredibly hadn't been taken. As an 11-year-old I didn't really see myself as a 'babe' but it was my only option so I took it. Then foolishly I put a photo of myself in a swimsuit on the beach as my profile picture.
