oh! thanks! I can't take credit for deciding on this ride but yeah, it's frustrating when all our measured approaches fail to yield so it'll be good to get some people power tomorrow for whatever good it will do!

  • Some early press interest on Road CC:

    http://road.cc/content/news/39839-blackfriars-bridge-flash-ride-will-reflect-cyclists-anger

    ...and a great write-up on Londonist;

    http://londonist.com/2011/07/blackfriars-scheme-direct-action-planned-tomorrow.php

It's becoming quite a big 'story' now, let's hope lots of people turn up tonight at 6PM at the pub on the bridge to make sure this is a really successful protest.

  • And Mark was just on BBC London radio talking about this, and getting much the better of the poor sap TfL had put up to defend the indefensible. TfL say there haven't been enough 'speed-related collisions' on the bridge to justify a 20mph limit or more cycle-friendly design, which I think tells you all you need to know about their attitude to promoting cycling.

  • See some of you guys at the loop ride this evening?

  • Hell yeah! The big one to try to get to is Doggett's on Blackfriars at 6PM (don't worry about being too late, these things always take an age to get going) - it will connect in with CM afterwards but most of the press will be there at 6 and we want maximum exposure. Hoping lots and lots of people turn up. Will be a bit sad if it's just 3 of us :-/

  • I should be there too, so you at least have 4

  • Cool. See you there!

  • I'll be there, both in a personal capacity and of course representing Wheels for Wellbeing. When the 'consultation' came out we responded from our persepective. I'm completely gutted about it all.

    So that's 5 of us!

  • If one more berk sends me one more email about this I am going postal on them.*

I would say see you there but given the numbers of people expected I think I might have to settle for if I recognise any of you I will say hi. If you see anyone in a red muddy hell tshirt with a large grey saddle pack say hi. It won't be me you're talking too but at least you are being social.

    *only kidding**

    not*

    ***maybe

  • I'll be there, of course.

  • I too shall be there.

  • As well as I.

  • will be there but may have to exit early

  • I am bringing a +1, so there should be at least a double number. But I forgot my very annoying honk...

  • Oh and I have got my blue mercury with silver halo wheels today. Would be nice to say hello to some of you?

  • Too many slow riding nodders for my liking.

    but you're still coming, right?

  • I'll be there with +2

  • I shall be there. On my tourer, though, as I'm off to catch a train to deepest Worcesestershire afterwards. Shame, because my fixed has '20's Plenty' stickers.

My tourer does have 'Clarion' on it, though, if anyone wants to say hi.

  • Was fun and massive turn out. Nice to see so many different cycling circles involved and loads of forum folk:

  • For some reason the colour came out differently when uploading to photobucket, will see what I can do (and still need to be edited before tomorrow!).

  • Fantastic turnout and I absolutely concur with you Skydancer ^^
    Let's hope we achieved SOMETHING.
