Jon, the decision for the LO was made, player packs have been printed etc.

I really don't think you should be changing the format of the LO two days before it starts, based on this discussion and poll. This poll should be used for future NS and LHBPA events.

A decision made after this discussion and poll would be far more informed than the decision made a few days ago that no-one knew was being made. Obviously people care about this issue so it would be sensible to listen. #IMO

There have probably been hundreds of decisions made without community consultation for the LO (and every other polo tournament). I'm with Jono on changing it if that's the will of the people, but I don't like the "decisions being made without any one knowing" argument. If you want, we can have a poll about how long games will be. And how many Swiss Rounds. And how we seed the Swiss Rounds. And how long the change over will be. And at what point we start adding extra time. And at what point we would like to finish. And...

I have to agree with Mark here. As long as all the players know what the format is in advance, and the rules aren't changed whilst the tourney is in progress, and in the abscence of any credible governing body with a mandate (because bike polo is so punk rock that it doesn't need rules or organisation), then it's pretty clear that the organisers can do whatever they like with the format.

I am grateful I'm sure we all are, and I agree with Bill. Jon asked for opinions didnt he? Mark started a poll (admittedly out of curiosity). No one is trying to discuss anything that we weren't invited to discuss by the tournament organisers.

Absolutely! I can't understand why our passion for debating the single/double final would be mistaken for anything other than excitement for the event that is about to happen.
