The game Mornington Crescent appears in the BBC's long running spoof panel game I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue once chaired by Humphrey Lyttelton, [thank you Rameye] and is governed by ever evolving nonsensical rules, expertly demonstrated by hamster.
Humphrey Lyttelton himself re-opened the station in 1998 after it had been closed indefinitely 6 years earlier when the lifts broke. Not being an important station it was deemed too expensive to repair. Public affection for the station from the game is said to be why tfl decided to finally change their minds, fix the lifts and give it a make over.
