For Sale: Eddy Merckx EMX3 Frameset

Posted on
  • I have for sale my Eddy Merckx EMX3 56cm in red. The frame is a little too long for me on the top tube. I struggle to find a good fitting bike due to my abnormal geomertries (long legs, little torso!)

The frame includes the original uncut fork (full carbon) seat post and original carbon stem (120mm, 6 degree +/-).

Its in great condition and only has tiny, minuscule paint marks. As the fork is uncut the bike is good to go for any set up. Probally only done around 500 miles on it as I was never that comfortable with it.

The frameset retails for £1900 currently but as I want to get a custom bike quickly I'll see it go for a bargain. £1000 ono

    Thanks

  • Nobody's gonna pay a grand if you only provide one shit photo.
    More effort please.

  • I'd say a full list of measurement will help also...

  • If the only reason you're selling is down to the top tube then either look at a shorter stem or look at the ISM adamo saddles which place you further forward.

  • I can supply many more photos if anyone is keen.

    TT Horizontal - 569mm
ST (BB to Centre) - 56cm

I don't like the ride with a shorter stem and my saddle is already pushed forward to the max, the ISM is going not going to solve my problem.

  • I can't believe you bought a a 1.9K frame that doesn't fit tbh, if you're going to drop that much you might as well get a bike fitting...

Anyway good luck with the sale, nice frame.

  • Yeah I have learnt my mistake. I now know my measurements so I can make an educated decision next time.

Buy the EFX3 instead. If it doesn't work out I'll buy it off you for half price.

  • different bars have different throw forward ie stretch measurements, it can all make a difference to fitting/not fiting.

From the pic the stem can go higher and be far more comfortable to ride/cruise/hill climb. You have a pseudo old fashioned sprinters position, which is crap for every thing but sprinting.

The stem can be shorter and still be comfy and resonable in length - I do believe you are chucking money away and will make the same mistake yet again, my advice is sort out what you've got, its perfectly do-able

  • That's not exactly a short stem. Look like 120mm, get a 100 and some compact handlebars with a short reach.

Will cost considerably less than taking a £900 hit...

  • I have tried 3 different stems in varying positions and after lengthy conversations with shops etc it is time to sell. Thanks for your input though

  • Forgot to mention that the headset is included. Thanks
