The thing is you don't have to like her music or even her lifestyle to be sad that someone so clearly blessed with an extraordinary talent has died far too young, and to regret that we will never know just what heights she might have achieved had she been sober, clean, mature, and experienced. That her two records won her award after award and a load of fans is due entirely to her amazing voice and her ability to sing every single word of every song like she meant it. Its a shame that in the rush of rival record companies to sign other Amys of their own we had talentless cunts like Duffy inflicted upon us, but that shouldn't take away from the fact that she was very much the real deal and her death is a tragic waste.
.
all this, she was the most talented singer/composer to come out of england for bloody ages, regardless of taste. more soul than anyone else in her big toe.
a very sad loss for real/heartfelt/ballsout soul
yes, she had some problems, who doesn't?
