There's a thread about this, but not the Utoeya Camp massacre or the famine in Somalia?
Make them.

What I was about to say.

What a waste. The most beautiful, earthy sound to come out of this country in years. RIP.
And WHY exactly is this in the *Mechanics & Fixing* Forum?

Make them.
There's not much to say about either story:
Somalia is a failed state, and desperately needs aid and guidance from the developed world. One can only hope that these problems are addressed soon by the relevant political leaders.
As for the massacre in Norway, I had a moment where i welled-up this morning after reading about it and imagining the horrors the survivors witnessed along with all the wasted lives. Tragic doesn't even come close as a description.
The dead in these instances had their lives taken away by factors outside of their control, with no opportunity to save themselves. It may be premature to suggest without knowing the precise facts surrounding her death, but Amy Winehouse gave hers away.

You've answered your own question braker.
Obviously this thread exists because she made music and we'll all have listened to it.

The NME might want to review their news template:

Yeah, i didn't really think about it that way. It *is *sad that she's gone.
-
• #1339
I hoped she would pull it together. There was an air of tragic inevitability about her though, sad to lose a life, any life especially at such a young age. Her folks must be distraught.

My facebook feed is full of fucking idiots saying things like "they tried to make her go to rehab...NOW SHE'S DEAD'
Ooooh yeah really bloody witty.

Sad thing is she has just had her new £4Million house done up in Camden Square and only lived in it for 6 weeks.
I will lay flowers later when the police have fucked off.

She really has gone... fuck...

Blake (her ex / the subject of many of her songs) stayed on my sofa years ago, a total nutjob, I couldn't get rid of him, I had to invite him down to Camden (I lived up the road in Hampstead) get him really really pissed and then sneak off and run home to lock the doors and chuck his stuff out before he clocked I had disappeared.
He met Amy around that time.

Is it bad form to post Winehouse jokes? Too early?
Or shall I just put them in the Jokes Thread?

There are lots of forensic men in White suits coming in and out of the house. It's very very somber here!

Pete Doherty next...if there's a God
-
• #1348
There isn't, bad luck.

At least she had talent to throw away. Doherty's only discernible talent is believing he is Byron or something....

Pete Doherty next...if there's a God
Like a 14 year old girl, I *really *hope not.
Such a sad waste, R.I.P had a huge amount of talent.
