Read the Rules
If you have an item for sale anywhere other than here, like ebay, bikeradar, ctc, retrobike, etc. then you cannot post it here. However, if you have posted it on one of those other sites, other people who have discovered it are allowed to post it in the eBay/Craigslist finds thread. You must not do this yourself.

Hey, is this still for sale? do you think it could be drilled to fit a brake?
-
• #10
Yer still for sale, not sure about drilling the forks.

Richardsow, I've got a track champ with the same forks and you can't drill them as there's a structural pin that goes through where you would drill.
Luckily my steerer tube hadn't been cut so Dolan kindly swapped the forks for drilled ones (very nice and helpful people). That doesn't help too much in this case, but to be honest, the Alpina forks and also the upgraded Wing TT forks are pretty common second hand so you could pick some drilled ones up quite cheaply if you did want a brake for the road.
Totally worth doing, as if the pre-cursa is anywhere as nice to ride as my Track-champ you'll love it!Good luck with the sale, Walkingmonkey777!

I can second what Ed Von P is saying.
The Alpina forks from my Carbon Pista had a structural screw preventing them from being drillable.

Thanks Ed Von P and stonehedge - v useful info. Was hoping to go for this and swap the forks around as recommend, then funds got drained! Would def recommend walkingmonkey (although never brought from him) - great communication throughout n very helpful. Good luck with the sale.

Hi
are the logo on the frame stickers ? -
• #15
Not my item, but they're decals which have been lacquered over.
If you're asking because you want to remove them, you can do this easily with a stanley blade (picking lightly at the side of each letter, then pulling it off). There will be a faint outline left where the decal was, but it's not that bad. It can also be improved by re-lacquering.
Personally, I removed the white decals, ordered some black ones from Dolan (20 pounds, I think), placed them where the white ones were and re-lacquered. lovely job!
You can't however remove the Alpina logo from the forks as it's a done using a different process to the frame.
