tricitybendix- Think I passed you about 15 miles into the return leg, black bike yellow jacket, my mate was on white focus. We took it too fast and I was in tatters by epping, hardly awake and it felt a bit dangerous to be honest. Then we witnessed a car overturn on the main road, scared the shit out of me. The two people inside were OK but it shook us and we just wanted off the road at that stage, then the rain hit us hard and we bottled it and got the train. 260 is over twice as far as I ever rode, but I still would have liked to do the whole 280 and get home. Next year.
Good to see you too, 6pt, sorry not to hang around longer, we had just had a caffiene stop a mile back.
Ah yes, did you (or the person you were with) ask me if I was riding back and then zoom off about 16 times faster than me? If so, yes, that was me. Well done on the 260 and I don't blame you in the slightest for bottling it, that road is bad enough without seeing cars flying everywhere. If I do there and back next year I'm going to come back via Stapleford/Chigwell Row; I can't imagine the mileage is much different and there is a much lower death risk. And the road surfaces are much better.
