Im leaving for the US in 42 days, and im not sure when ill be back, or even if ill be back.

I do have a load of parts stored that i can probably keep, but i also have a fair few bikes, the cheapers ones ill be giving to friends.

Anyway, just thought its worth a shot to see if anyone fancies this tarck beater.

It was made in 1987, in ukraine.

Bought the frame from a seller called foma who is by the way, a dick. Got stung by customs and to be honest made what was a bargain into less of one but shit happens.

The frame is solid, and from what id read they're tough as nails, though i havent given it a very hard time as ive only had it throughout summer, but its pretty stiff and doesent weigh a great deal.

Its a completely undrilled f&f so you'll need a clamp on brake unless you want to ride it brakeless which ive been doing.

Here are some points about these frames you should know, as i dont want someone buying it and not knowing a few things specific to some of these old ussr frames.

Fork and headset are russian threaded, so they basicaly work with eachother, but if you want a new headset you'll have to chase the fork threads, or have a new steerer put on. The headset is original and works well enough for its age.

Seatpost is 25mm, i have a 26mm kalloy team issue on there thats been taken down to 25mm.

Everything else is normal, british BB threads and 120mm rear spacing ect.

    Now onto specs.

Wheels were bought from Lae at a bargain price of £60.

    Orig. thread here.

they are Mavic open sports, s/s DB spokes onto zenith sealed hubs, both 3cross.

Tough wheels and theyre smooth and true.

Ive put my fav drivetrain combo for under £100 on there, which is a stronglight track 2000 chainset, with a stronglight jp400 alloy cup BB. A seriously good combo and ive put that on two separate bikes now as its stiff and the cnc rings are really really good.

chain is kmc z510, which i think is the best cheapish chain you can buy.

tyres are nearly new folding michelin speedium 2's, which are nice for the money, and pretty light.

tubes are cheap butyl but work.

seat is a nos velo thing i had lying around, which killed me the first ride but since is really comfy, equally comfy to my charge spoon, but the spoon took longer to break in.

Stem and bars are british made GB i believe and were parts i had laying around, as i usualy ride modern bikes, i didnt have many threaded spares so to speak, they work well for this build.

Gearing is pretty heavy @49x15 but i use this bike for non serious TTs locally so its a nice gear, also i guess if you skid, which i dont , on purpose anyway, you have 15 or 30 skid patches which means you wont tear through tyres as often.

No pedals unforch, as they will be stored with my shoes as theyre a good team.

Anyway TLDR; Buy my tarck bike, its tough, lugged and fast but doesent cost a shit ton!

And the frame before it was built http://i55.tinypic.com/2mg6mw8.jpg

Im in southend, essex, but usually end up splitting a train ticket with buyers.

    £350 ono.

  • how much for the cranks? if you're prepared to split

  • Id rather not split right now, as ill more than likely end up with more parts to store when i leave on the 1st. Just offering this for sale to help relieve the pain of the cost of travelling these days, so if i do split, you'll have a pm. Cheers.

  • Size?

  • How did that slip my mind! Size added.

  • This is a great frame, I had one of these.
    Good luck with the sale.
