  • I am new to the forum so I need 3 posts.... but should be looking out around london fields and brick lane this weeked for it, any tips on what the hell to do should you catch someone with it??

Have a look here too www.bikeshd.co.uk

  • Thanks Jessiclees, found that, but site seems to be stuck since the 18th....

  • I have had 2 bikes stolen out my garage
    Focale44, Relax 2010, 52cm, dark grey colour.
It has a grey frame & fork with black Deda 100 stem and Deda Pista drop handlebars wrapped in Fizik soft black microtex tape.
Apart from the stem and handlebars it is stock. Its has no brakes. There are no stickers on it apart from an 'F' stamped into the headtube.

  • Stick some flyers up at LMNH too if you need to dude.

As I said to John, it couldn't hurt to put flyers up everywhere, maybe even Brick Lane? It's definitely worth taking one to Armotex and since this was stolen with about 20 other bikes, the Cycle Task Police department should definitely take an interest. There's a contact on here somewhere.
I've done a quick flyer for you if it helps Reen. Happy to pop one in to LMNH if you like. Hope it's ok.
    Fingers crossed.

PDF attached, let me know if you want print outs.

  • I can't help thinking bike crims check this link. Can a private one be created for recovery? Paranoid

Hope you find the Faggin. Eyes peeled.

  • ^ Agreed this is the one thread that ALWAYS has guests on it!

  • But it's for bikes that already have been stolen...

  • Hello all, my partner's apple green Peugeot Du Monde was stolen right before his eyes on monday afternoon on Navarino road Hackney. A junkie climbed our fence and threw the bike over the 10 foot fence to his mate on the other side who ran down the street with it and disappeared into the local council estate. It has yellow bar tape, vintage yellow silca pump, vintage brown/tan leather Peugeot saddle and vintage leather and canvas pannier bag on the back. Please let me know if anyone sees it.

  • Oh well spotted, sorry. I'll re-do it tomorrow if you like.
    Keep searching mate, fingers crossed!

Seriously contact the Cycle Task Force though, 20 bikes means big business so they should be interested.

i've got the same bad feeling

But it's for bikes that already have been stolen...

good source of information, don't you think?
for example: this one is too distinctive, needs respraying and swapping few bits, can't be posted on gumtree or anywhere online

type in google "stolen bike london" and this thread is coming up on top

i can't stop thinking how many people who bought stolen bikes are on here anyway...sorry,

  • reen, so sorry to hear about your bicycle. hope it turns up mate.

  • Amended pdf in my original post.
Don't forget to check the cash converters around the East also matey.

    Still crossing fingers.

  • I've always been curious: what happens when you find your saddle? Do you just say "hey gimme back my saddle" or do you have to call the police there?

Its like cinderella and her shoe, if the balls fit....

  • If you got Skully to stamp your name in it you'd have some sort of preeof of ownership.

  • I know it's a spitroast but still..

    good luckss

  • skully did the job originally. bought it from marxist fixie... if i ever see it again, itr is extremely distinctive!

anyway, got a used swallow to replace it and a thompson post...

  • I had my bike nicked yesterday and reported it- police's advice to me was to check brick lane and gumtree, and if I find it, call them and they'll deal with it- try my local police station first and if I can't get hold of an officer straight away, call 999.
Brick Lane was an extremely depressing experience- loads of awful people selling stolen stuff.
I don't hold out much hope of mine turning up :(

  • Shit news Katie. How did it happen and what does it look like?

  • It was in the corridor of my friend's building- nothing to lock it to and I stupidly left it there for an hour. It's dark purple, black saddle and bullhorn bars, it's a 60s carlton conversion but no decals. In a bit of a state and I'm building another one so it's not the end of the world but I did want to keep the wheels- Gipiemme front wheel with quite odd spoke lacing- I'll try to find some pictures.

It's in the background on the right of the picture

  • Sorry to hear that, Katie. Dark purple isn't the most common bike colour, although hard to tell from a distance. Will keep eyes out anyway.
