silver alu, was the one i broke, it had the bolt on the side, i think these are less sturdy than the ones i've seen, with the bolt in the vertical, but any will do.
I'll have what i can afford, good to excellent would be nice, to be honest i didn't think i'd be lucky enough to get a choice.Length does not have to be long as it has an extended seat tube so not much on show.
thanks for the replies, i saw hilary stone had one for sale a while ago, but they don't come up often, i'm not sure it's a great system, but it would be a shame to cut a slit in the frame and fit a clamp , i'm in no desperate rush.
