Max is boss.
I reckon B's cage is just about perfect.
I attached my fixcraft face mask to a Protect helmet (with a lot of swearing), and have a slight concern that if the cage takes a big knock (landing face first or a face on hit), the chin strap will dig in my throat.
The hockey masks are perfect when cut down so that ^^ helmet looks great.
How did he do it B? -

how many times you landed face first when you used a normal helmet?
-
• #829
I haven't counted.

Fixcraft have $23 off the Bern + facecage with HEADACHE coupon code so its about £52 with shipping as far as I can tell.

Shit happens and it's up to oneself to decide how far you want to push your luck

Softball masks could the way to go?

Aah you found it in the end, you have a pm anyway.
Yeah this kind of thing look very similar to fixcraft minus the hipster tax

Wouldn't say it's hipster tax. They're a polo start up, and nto chargin a massive amount, ~£20 posted from the states isn't too bad, they have to make a bit of money

Joni did you have to pay customs ont the fixcraft purchase?
-
• #836
I'm thinking you'll be able to adapt these for non peaked helmets.
Has anyone tried?
-
• #837
It is quite a lot for a mask that otherwise sells for £7 posted.
I didn't pay customs, no, and I did adapt it to fit my Protect helmet fairly easily with a hammer and some pliers.
They come with with the male / female stack style bolts with a metal clip which I think is quite difficult to find. I went in to Leyland and a local shop and they didn't have anything like it, so that might be the clincher if they're not easy to source? Unless you can use those Gray Cricket helmet bolts?
Once I've bent this in to shape and out of my line of vision, I think it works really well. As I said ^, my only concern is that front on impact pushes the chin strap into the throat. I've put padding on mine which made it a bit better.
A good option though!

softball looks good. The helmet Will made me is a kayak helmet and bauer facecage,
-
• #839
That helmet doesn't look lke it'd stop the injury you had at the euros b, still a big gap no?
-
• #840
Some of the cheap softball cages on ebay come with mounting screws too. I dont know much about fixcraft, but like Joni said it just seems excessive for something rebranded and passed off as polo specific.
Used my bauer and itech face cage for the first time last night, didn't find it messed with my vision too much-25 quid posted from ebay, well recommended!
