They're all much of a muchness - how complicated can a beam with a hole in one end be? :-)
I have tried shorter pads than the usual MTB style, and liked them. More pressure x less area seems to give more bite.
Tektro Mini-V seem like a good idea, no need to change your levers and more tyre clearance than a Pompino has space to exploit.
