In addition to the info in the OG thread...
1) The seatpost was indeed well stuck. I got it moving but couldn't get it out so I chopped the top of the seatpost off with the intention of hacksawing it out a la Sheldon Brown. This is a far as I got with this.
2) The seat tube has two small cracks at the bottom of the slit that clamps the seatpost. This may have been caused or aggravated by me trying to free the post.
3) I've binned the old chain. Also I removed the deraillers, I still have them.
I now don't want it. It requires collecting/ is not ridable at the moment. Collection is from N16.
I paid £60, I'll take £45.
