As to the festa, I told you I was shit at piccies.......or is it genius?? :0)
Looks like it might be only the gorgeous baby blue racer still available as Sandip is coming up to collect the mistral today, I think......

Hoban/James also sold..... I will update the original thread when I am back on my puter..... Instead of the iPhone.
Just the gorgeous baby blue fixie project retro racer thing left..... £40 anyone?
Honest, I've made it sound worse than it is and you will never see another one parked alongside you!

Just not sure about the size, come and have a look some time early next week?

I've been pm'd about the Santana.... It is probably gone, but if not, that would be no problem.
I'll be sad to see the Hoban/ James go...... I was only using it as a pub bike, and it's far too good for that. It needs to see some cols again.....

blue Santana gone to Sandy......picked up and ridden away ;O)
Thread now closed, and thanks for the interest....
I have a couple of cheapies, but goodies and a nicer, more expensive one......My photography skills are non-existant, they are captured with a point and shoot.......I can just about do that.
Dibs away, by all means, but the first to show a definate commitment wins.
They are for collection from Bishop's Stortford on the Liverpool Street line and I would prefer payment via paypal as I have an upcoming ebay fee due and need to cover that....If you have a smart phone, I have no objection to you seeing them first, then paying via paypal gift at the station.....modern gadgets are great!!
If you need to, cash on collection works too ;o)
A forum donation will of course follow, as my little star has run out and needs topping up.....i do it every 3 months, so the forum gets a bit more from me.
First up, a 'Mistral', which is a Yugoslavian brand.
It is in very good condition, with the odd mark and very slight pitting to the chromework......most, if not all, will come off with a bit of tinfoil and some elbow grease.....It really does look very nice in it's metallic red/burgandy colour.
It is steel of a comparable quality to 501, I reckon......quite nice.
Everything works perfectly, including the dynamo lights front and back, the rear rack and of course, the 3 speed Sturmey Archer. The hub date is February 1987 and I have no reason to think it is dated otherwise. Whilst the tyres show signs of cracking on the sidewalls, they hold air perfectly fine and I have been zipping around on it today......It rides lovely!!
Size is 53cm on the seat tube and the price is £50
Next up is a cracker!
It is a Santana Duke, big old racer thing with horizontal drop outs, 5 speed Falcon gearing, a bit of metallic gorgeous baby blueness going on and probably gas pipe quality steel with lugs, but heres the thing.......This is a blast to ride!
It gets up to speed surprisingly quickly and is easy to hold the momentum....It really doesn't feel heavy though.....Comes complete with slightly rusty 27" rims, good tyres and lots of feelgood factor when you ride it.....All works perfectly, get on and ride, without worrying when you lock it up.
Size is 59cm on the seat tube, 57.5 on the top tube, Price is £60
The final one is, in my opinion, a lovely bike.....It is originally a Barry Hoban (not one of the cheap ones, a good one) built from Reynolds 531 tubing. In 1989, it had a full resto by Fred James cycles and he applied their decals and fitted a brand new, complete set of Campag Chorus to it, including the hubs....everything.
It has a lovely, patina'd rolls saddle, a very nice set of Cinelli Giro D'Italia 64 42 bars on a nice Cinelli XA 120mm stem. The hubs are laced to a set of Mavic GP4 tubular rims with Continental Giro tubs, the front one new, the rear with loads of life left in it......The chap that owned it then rode E'tape, Alpes D'huez and several other races that I have never heard of.......I know, cool story bro!
Suffice to say that this is a genuine racing machine, light as a feather and very, very responsive.......this thing flies.
Really shit photos.....sorry. I'll do better ones tomorrow. It's black with gold lettering.
It has some rust on the pointy bolts of the monoplaner brakes and some blemishes in the paint......It probably wants a full respray to be lovely again, but the price it is up for reflects this. Seat tube 59cm, top tube 58cm
Price £300
Pedals and light not included ;o)
Thats it for now.....thank fuck!
