^ what does medium mean in cm?
-
• #8
I dunno but knocking 20 quid off a 2010 model is pretty fucking jokez.
-

i'll give you a hundred and fiddy notes for it mate.

It's 56 cm.. I won't accept 150 I'm afraid. 200 is my best price.

Wiggle had them advertised for £299 but had none in stock (presumably to lure people into their website), new ones are £599 are in small and extra small. New Plug 2010 model, reduced price, no piss on chips :)

If the Plug frame is the same as the Tap frame I'd say that the medium is much bigger than 56 cm.

Here is my 2009 medium (56cm) Charge Plug ridden around Regents Park and Herne Hill Velodrome about 500 miles. All the frame branding has been meticulously covered with durable foil for a clean look. There are a few paint chips in the usual places but nothing major. The wheel-set has been changed to Charge Dish high polish with Formula hubs and Continental GP 4000 tyres. Other mods include; Thomson 90mm stem, Nitto drop-bulls with Cane Creek aero lever and Cinelli cork tape, Brookes NAHBPC ltd. ed. saddle, EAI 16t superstar fixed cog, Sugino 50t chainring, KMC Devil chain, and MKS Sylvan peddles. The rear brake has been removed, but will be included in the sale as will a pair of Charge Bowl drop bars with 70mm Thomson stem.
This bike is beautiful, but I am selling it as I have recently built another bike for the track and have no need for it anymore.
I will sell sell it as described for £500 with unused Cinelli leather tape to match the Brookes saddle.. or it may be sold for less without handlebars, saddle etc.

Very funny Olly.. Here's how I see it a brand new Charge Plug costs £500 with cheap components. So you are paying mostly for the frame. And despite its relatively heavy weight, it is one of the few off the peg bikes with no bullshit added to the frame and is thus easily adapted for the velodrome. The wheels I've opted for are not a performance upgrade. They are very attractive wheels for the money though. That said, with all the other components and accessories I've listed and the next to new condition of the frame, this bike is a bargain compared to a stock spec Plug from your LBS. Furthermore as I said, I am open to offers.

lex lane, in all honestly after wiggle started selling them for £299 the resale value of plugs has diminished...you do have some nice parts so ur best bet is to split the parts (i.e sell individually) and accept the loss on the frame + fork unless u can find another crazy hipster who would pay you £500 for a plug with 500 miles

Well, I couldn't really give a toss if it sells or not. Right now it makes a great towel rack (and yes it is that clean)... Also I would like to remind the cynics out there that 500 miles is covered in less than a week of the Tour de France. Furthermore, I just checked the price on wiggle; Charge Plug £599 still with same shit parts. Perhaps you could bag one at end of season sale for £299. But do you really think they will have heaps of medium frames for that price?

Lex Lane, probably best to not get your knickers in a bunch about the responses you've received, but £500 for a bike, that you've admittedly upgraded, is too much.
You're selling it secondhand, and as much as you want to recoup the costs from your outlay on upgrading, you'll not get anything near that on this forum, take off 150-200 quid and maybe. If you split, and sell individually, you'll probably get back to your asking price. But splitting and selling can be a ballache, which is why most don't do it, and if you didn't give a toss whether it sells or not, why offer it in the first place. Just let it keep being a towel rack and everyone's happy.
And one last point, your statement that it's easily adapted for the velodrome, can be pointed at pretty much every OTP track bike out there, take off front brake, put on drops. Voila, you have track bike. The Plug is not special in this regard, and it being a heavy frame, usually counts against it in the velodrome stakes.
Hope you sell it at some point and make back as much of your money as you can.
as you were..

I struggled to sell this just over a year ago for £480, 50s Holdsworth Zephyr with mix of new and vintage parts... Beautiful 90s Italian road bikes with full Campag groupsets regularly turn up for less than £500... Can you see where I'm going with this?

Theres no tin foil on that Holdsworth though

Tell Dale I want her back, worst decision I ever made selling that bike...

So you are paying mostly for the frame..... it is one of the few off the peg bikes with no bullshit added to the frame and is thus easily adapted for the velodrome.
The charge plug is not a very suitable for the velodrome. The bb height is too low and pedal strike is a real possibility.
Im not saying that it isnt a good bike but it is overpriced. You can pick up charge plug frames for around £120 on here.
Hi, anyone wants to sell charge plug? I prefer freestyler but also offer me racer and the others.
Please pm me with asking price.
ah!! I want a small size.. cuz I am a loser who has short legs.. ;)
small is ideal for 175cm??
Cheers!
