I felt compelled to join the forum to give a small rant about this dealer. I ordered a helmet from them last week and the money was deducted from my account within seconds. They emailed the next day to say they didn't have the helmet, so I asked for a refund. They said it would take 2-3 working days to hit my account, but it ended up taking 5 (a week from the day I placed the order). That's a long time to be out £120 for an item that they never had, as well as a hassle to to find out from them what the problem was. In the end, they blamed it on my bank.
There's a reason there's no phone number on the website - they suck and don't want to be bothered about it. I reasonably suggested that they send me an equal-value helmet while I waited for my refund, and I would post it back 2-3 days after the money hit my account. Strangely, they didn't take me up on that offer. Avoid at all costs.
Mate, not to be funny, but I work in a business where things can be bought and have to be refunded all the time. 5 Days is actually exceptionally fast, we quote 3 weeks, and that tends to be for much larger sums of money than £120 - this is based on our finance department processing the refund immediately. It is the banks who take the time to process these kind've things - not the shops!
Equally I can understand your frustration at ordering an item and it not actually being available (had it with winstanleys bikes in the past). But I would say that, in this circumstance, its really not the shops fault for the delay in refund - they just need to sort their stock accounting system out.
(ps, I've ordered from them recently, and the stuff took a day longer to arrive than quoted, but it was all in order...)
