WfW urgently needs £10,500 for flat track at Herne Hill Velodrome so disabled cyclists can be part of cycling hub. Can you help?
As some of you are already aware, WfW have been working with HHV to 'move home' there.
We have been involved with the planning process and we only saw the final plans (which keep changing) this week. We need a 5m flat track to run on the inside of the banked track which will allow us to run fully accessible sessions for disabled people, some of which ride on side-by-side tandems which are over 1.5m in width.
Currently, they have a 4m track in the designs and whilst it is possible to extend it by another metre, it will cost an additional £10.5K and they simply don't have the money in the budget to do this. They start work on it NEXT WEEK and they need to know by MONDAY if we can fundraise the additional money.
So, can you, as an individual help? If so, you can donate directly through our website - www.wheelsforwellbeing.org.uk (click on the donate now button at the bottom of the homepage) or through our justgiving site - http://www.justgiving.com/wheelsforwellbeing. Alternatively, if you have any contacts in the business that can help us, please let us know (contact us via the WfW website). Do you know of any charitable trusts that we could tap in to? Any info (and of course donations!) would be great and will make all the difference.
Thanks everyone for your support, once again.
