They are 'cheap' parts, that's the only reason anyone buys them.
They are cheap enough to experiment for sure- and some of us would think twice about running branded carbon as you do due to the replacement costs. If you crack a Zipp that's a nasty amount of money to find, crack one of the chinese rims and it's painful for sure, but it's not the price of a new bike to replace.
Once the experimental phase is over the intention is to build the rims using Tune hubs and CX Ray spokes- again, not a cheap wheelset.
