I had a cheap Carradice CarraDura (and the cheap racktop bag), they were surprisingly fine the whole ride, even during heavy rain as it come with it's own rain cover.

If you got the Super C racktop bag ( just ordered one to replace the current one), I advised the Super C handlebar bag, it should be a lots more breathable as despite my CarraDura bag being fine, it's a little humid inside when the weather was sporadic, but not enough to affect electronic equipment.

Cool. What elastic ties are you using on the rear bag?

P.S. Is the chain ring really big or just looks it?
