  • woahhh that is a lot of money.... I would not buy it, for that money you can get better things

I dont remember the name but this frame builder from italy was building new frame for that sort of money

    edit: this guy http://www.pelizzoliworld.com/products/pista/

he was asking 475 euros for the pista model

  • Anyone know the brand of these v-brake mounts?

Or does anyone (looks over at the polo guys) know if the Identiti ones below will fit Bruiser forks?

Identiti will tell you their mounts will ONLY fit their own forks.
I, on t'other hand, am running said mounts on my Bruiser forks. Naughty me.

  • My Dad collceted this in the week, no idea what it is.]

Reynolds 531 tubing, simplex gearing, weinmann brakes, suzu wheels and a Falcon headset - pretty sure it's been built as a mix and match.

What we'd like to know is the make/model of frame -

The sticker says 'special' and there is a sticker down by the crank that reads holdsworthy? Most of the sticker is worn away.

Here are a few pics, it's been stood for a number of years!

  • Given the headset, and the fact that both holdsworthy and Falcon were part of the same group, I'd guess it was a mid to late 80s falcon

  • The forks are bent.

  • The forks are bent.

I think that may be the way the picture has been taken (ie with the forks turned slightly to the right)

  • I'd say that's classic ride into immovable object bent forks, not the angle they are sitting at.

  • Definitely crash-damaged, and perhaps not only in the forks.

  • that frame and fork are definitely bent to shit. hahahaa people amaze me.

  • +1
strip for bits, the frame is a scrapper.

    this

double check at the top of the downtube if there is any damage to the frame.

I had the same frame, it is Holsdworth, but from their second period, when they were bouth why Raleigh, it was their mid range

  • Went a bit over-enthusiastic last night during a fleabay-when-drunk session...

Could you please help me try to find out what the hell I purchased, while I cure my hangover ?

    Many thanks !

  • for that price does not look too bad... and , personnaly, I think will be difficult to be sure of what really is (brand I mean)

  • any reference and information about the below please?

I like that way it looks but wonder if that is comfy at all.

Also seller wants £45 - is it worth it?

    I had one.

Got it from eBay and loved the way it looked, but it wasn't comfy. Best guess was that it was an Indian knock off. The problem is that there is no way to adjust the tension of the leather, so once it sags (mine was very saggy), it's no use. I did drill and lace mine, which helped a bit, but I never got it even close to feeling like a proper Brooks would. Ended up selling it on.

If you want it as an interesting show piece that won't get much use, then go for it, but if you want an actual, long term usable saddle, then look elsewhere.

Also, you can get very similar ones here for $29, though you'd have shipping on top: http://www.hiwheel.com/parts/index.htm

    6620Victor/Hairpin Style Saddle $29.95

  • Can't seem to work out what model this is, beyond slr tour de france special. Maybe a 1400? But year too? Google doesn't help much.
Got gifted it, so have no clue about it.

  • Whatever you do don't clamp the frame by the toptube. It may only be in there loose but it's good to get into the habit of clamping it where it's safe to do so - seattube, unless it's carbon and don't clamp it at all

I hope you can identify the frame...

  • Stick a seat piller in and clamp it by that.

  • Okay note taken, thanks. It is a 1400 from 2006, i believe.

Think there must be something wrong with the clap, the top part can be 'pulled' away, so it wouldn't clap sideways as it would be pulled by the weight of the bike. Not sure what's up with it.
