In the end I decided to set myself a target of 1000 miles, and having just nudged over 900 after today's ride, I think it's do-able by Friday. It's been quite a challenge (well, the clue was in the name, I suppose), as I don't commute any substantial mileage, and usually find long rides a little tedious; furthermore, I've notched up a lot of saddle time either on my own (6.30am starts to be back for family lunchtime), or on the rivet around Regents Park, so I appreciated the company on 55 of today's miles, and whilst thrashing my Brompton around the North Downs on Tuesday night in the post-deluge dampness. It's also been a challenge monitoring my energy levels and injury risk hotspots, and I feel like I've learnt a lot.
