  • It probably is, but a new bike at that price, it's got a coaster brake so there isn't a great deal that can go wrong with it? Given the choice I'd build something similar to what Nhatt has done.

  • Dutch transport bikes for €199 on http://link.marktplaats.nl/266471943 or their own website
happybikehillegom.nl they don't mention the parts etc. but at €199 it sure is cheap.

might be crap, really don't know, i remember it being very similar to some rental bikes in amsterdam (at least i rented a cargo bike there already), and for that price you can't be too wrong.

  • i don't care either way, but why give that bike a wink of credit and not any other complete piece of crap?

On close inspection it appears the stays are bolted together. it doesn't even have dropouts. they just flattened the chainstay and drilled a hole in it. I dont think i'd spend 50 bucks on that thing. I'm ok with cheap bikes, but thats an insult.

  • I see it more as a cargo bike (tough piece of metal kit made to be abused)

  • Dutch bikes do not have drop outs of any kind, this includes the Gazelle bike (below) that are a lot more expensive (€550). Like I said earlier I don't know the components but with these kind of bikes there isn't a great deal that can go wrong with them.

  • There is alot that can go wrong with any bike if its crap, unipacs are a great example of this!

  • i just found this site.

  • Was thinking about buying this as a project... has anyone got any advice? would drum brakes be a nightmare and what about working with old school parts such as cottered cranks?

If i'm after such a bike would it just be better to get a lighter more modern bike such as a specailized globe for example?

  • Did you get one? If you did I'd like to know how you got on. I've just acquired a Postie's bike and I need some help. Got to do three entries before I can post for myself my own threadage. Cheers.

  • Hi Constable, I've used the 'more modern' post bike to commute (10 mile round trip) and then used the bike for real on the rounds - they fly, really! Just got myself an old rod-pull with rack (I'm recycling a rack and basket from the skip at the local Depot) so get in touch.. Chooch. (Is that my 3rd post yet?)

  • beautifull cargobike teddy

  • Here is my Pashley
