I have a beeeeaaauuutiful Flying Scot track frame for sale. It was built in 1955 and is finished in a stunning bright red. The lugwork is immense. It's drilled for front & rear brakes with mudguard eyelets & clearance for mudguards. The condition is mainly excellent, although it does have some scrapes/paint rub, the worst of which is on the right chainstay near the dropouts and also on the seat tube next to the logo decal. It's overall appearance is great though. No dings, no dents, no bends, nothing bad structurally whatsoever.

I'm sure you all appreciate how rare these frames are. I'm asking £360 for the frame set but would prefer to sell with the T.D. Cross/T.D.C. cottered cranks & bb for an extra £40, so basically I want £400 for the lot. It saves removing the cranks & bb and to be honest, the cranks look stunning on it.

Pick-up from Newington Green, N1 would be ideal.

  • Seen this in the flesh, very nice....

  • This frame, if it were a person was in my year at school or possibly the year before me....and like me..it looks wonderful for its age!....Good luck with the sale.

  • very nice, same year as my road frame :)

  • very nice....

    +1

I've never seen TDC cranks before, only BBs, so presumably they're fairly unusual in themselves, right?

I can't find any info on them. They actually just say Cross on them, but I'm assuming they're TD Cross, it makes sense to me. I'm sure I've seen that on their headsets before.

  • very nice mate, i have the same frame and am in love with it. beautiful ride and unique.

Nice. It's a shame it's too big for me, otherwise I'd be riding it!

So, I had another look at these today. The ring is actually Williams, but the cranks have CROSS engraved on the front of the arms and a large NG embossed right at the base of the inside of the arms. I'm now unsure what the hell they are, anyone have any idea?

  • Sweet. Seen this in the steel and it's gorgeous!

Fraction too big for me unfortunately so best of luck with the sale sir.

  • Available elsewhere for £2k next week so act now, kiddies...

    Lovely frame...

  • Very nice frame man. I was in the shop last weekend looking for furniture and happened upon your treasure trove, pity you weren't around though. The Raleigh Ti Team frame is something special.

Agreed... did you also see the Colnago? Oh my, what a frame... as is this one of course...

Hey man, thanks. Yeah it is a shame I wasn't there. I'm leaving work at the end of August so I'll be down there full time from September onwards. Yeah the Raleigh came out really well, Bob Jackson did a fine job. Just gotta find a set of Campag Pista cranks and I'll finally be completing the build.

The Peanut Vendor guys have some lovely furniture too. I try to be in there most weekends so hopefully I'll be around if you pop in next time.

  • Good to hear man. My plan is to save up until October and then pop in to get me a fine piece of fixed steel.

NG is a Williams copy. Same pattern/era but cheaper. Search for Nicklin cranks and they will be there.

Nicklin! That's the name I was trying to remember, when I saw NG I swore I remembered a brand name similar to that. Thanks man :)
