The BskyB deal depends on how the blame get apportioned. The deal is for News Int. to buy up majority shares in BskyB. At the moment News Int. is trying to distance itself from the NotW.
If that doesn't work, then the implication of illegality at New Int. would far override the technicality that the BskyB consultation was review purely on grounds of competition.
Also this is more than about Brooks. She is the direct link between the scandal and News Int. but it's bigger than her now. The apparent refusal by Murdoch to accept her resignation and instead opt to close NotW shows how true this is. If she goes it implicates News Int.
