This was in the travel report:
*A11 Whitechapel Road Westbound closed, queueing traffic due to accident, a lorry and a cyclist involved between A107 Cambridge Heath Road / Sidney Street and B108 New Road. **Due to an accident outside the Royal London Hospital police are directing all traffic into Sidney Street to join Commercial Road. Bus routes 25, 205 and 254 diverted via Commercial Road. Route D3 diverted via Cambridge Heath Road.

Let's hope this unknown rider is okay.

I road past this yesterday in the opposite direction and it did not look good. It shook me up a bit.
One of those flat back lorries with a crane arm on top, the bicycle was tangled up in the rear set of wheels. It was on the far side lane away from the new cycle path as well so not sure what had happened. Perhaps the truck had changed into the right lane whilst the bike was on its right side?
Police had set up their surveying teams and the whole road was shut. The only possible positive was that it was right outside Royal London Hospital so the ambulance would have been there immediately.

Wow, scary. The Whitechapel Road is a mess at the best of times, without having to deal with articulated cranes. Not hearing much about this rider, I really really hope they are okay; this is just down the road from where I live so playing on my mind a bit.
Just been told by a follower on Twitter that a rider is down on the Whitechapel Road, near the hospital, after a collission with a truck. They mentioned police being there and taking measurements in the road. A quick cursory search of Twitter shows a few other people talking about a truck and bicycle there.
Obviously this is unsubstantiated at the moment, fingers crossed no one has been seriously hurt.
