Murdoch is trying, above all else, to make sure the BskyB deal goes through. He is gambling that losing a few months of profit by shutting the NOTW before he starts the Sun on Sunday will be worth it for the vast profits and power that taking full control of BSkyB will bring. I think Brooks will go too, probably 'resign', and at some point in the future be back working for Murdoch.
