• #4
what model maurice have you got ? 2011 ?
-
• #5
Use something flat, palette knife/flat head screwdriver
-
• #6
Mongoose maurice is ahead so quill won't fit
-
• #7
kkk, my moment of stupidity has passed. I have managed to get the allen key bit now, but does anyone know if a 1" quill stem would fit?
-
• #8
why won't it?
-
• #9
no it should fit ! you need a threaded fork and different type of headset
-
• #10
because i think the forks are 1 1/8 inch
-
• #11
Forks = 1 1/8
Headset = 1 1/8
Stem = 1 1/8
Quill = 1 -

http://www.choppersus.com/store/product/635/Headtube-Reducer-1-1-8-to-1%22/ <----- you can use that to adapt the headset sizes, but you will need a new set of forks and headset if you were to do it :) tbh it's not worth it.

• #14
ughh fuck it cba :P
-
• #15
What does the top of the fork look like? Threaded/unthreaded? Star nut inside?
-
• #16
haha^^
-
• #17
is there a stem that goes down the same as a quill, but that would fit my humble maurice?
-
• #18
You mean that uses an expanding wedge system inside the fork's steerer tube? There might be but then you'd need a different headset and threaded forks for the head set to thread onto...
I'd forget about it, in my eyes a Maurice is too modern for a retro quill stem, see if you can find a cool ahead 1 1/8" stem.

If you're using drops you could have a big drop on your hands...
