• I hate having to get off my bike and walk around gridlock traffic where drivers have taken no consideration of the cycle lane amongst the stress of being stuck in traffic for hours, and are instead sat right over the cycle lane. I usually overtake and filter round, but filtering can be terrifying to someone who is new to cycling. And sometimes there isn't even the space to filter during rush hour.

I've been told its impractical to ban cars from the cycle lane due to road width limitations, but why not introduce legislation to keep cars moving if they do enter the cycle lane i.e. treat the cycle lane like a box junction. They can move over into the cycle lane whilst travelling, but if they stop within it they risk being fined. So gridlock traffic stays out of the cycle lane, and out of the way of newer cyclists...

    What do you think?
