• I'm seeking a steel fork, threaded, aimed at 27" wheels with mudguards. It's to replace the fork from an old Dawes Galaxy but I might be open to mismatched stuff so long as it all fits.

  • I have a fork, will fit 27s, with eyelets for guards. Currently a darkish greeny blue. 60s or 70s I guess. Threads good. Will take measurements, what dimensions do you want to know?

  • well, in absense of a response, the dimensions are:
    top of steerer-fork crown: 186mm
    threading: 32.5mm
    Crown race: 26.6mm
    rake: 45mm
    spacing: 98mm

I'd say this may well be from a Dawes, Claud Butler, Holdsworth or similar. Flat crown with centre point, wide oval blade. Nice large rounded ends, sharply bending rake and serial number suggests 50s, 33155.

  • If Skully's don't do it for you, Northwood Cycle Depot has quite a few steel forks hanging up in their workshop, give them a ring 01923 824174 they're helpful
