it will work but it will hurt and you will look stupid.

• #3
how will it hurt, superjoe?
-
• #4
Your knees, your neck, your wrists "will feel funny".
-
• #5
bad idea, you should be worried about top tube length, i'm 5,9 and would need a super long stem on that

thanks ada - i didnt check the TT, but im guessing its not long at all

And if you ever have some spare cash and want to get a properly fitted bike for life (especially if you plan to get a custom build), get in touch with Scherrit on this forum.

Ok..looks like im shopping for a 56cm frame then!
:]
on a side note I just learned a valuable lesson -> never ever post a pic of yourself on this forum -

I'd go for 54cm seat tube for a city bike (or the tricks frame) and bigger road frame. Anyway, it really depends how long your arms and legs are, so there's no point to speculate.

I'm 5'9 with 54cm (both) frame, even then, I am like a T-Rex, have long torso and short arms/legs so need a stubby 60/80mm stem.
If you've got a proper sizing guru handy, make use of them, met one once on a ride, he suggest to me a few tweaks and i'm still in his debt (free advice for win).

Or go to a reputable bicycle shop and ask their advice on sizing.
top tube length is more important than seat tube.
I'm 6' and need a 53-54cm frame.

I am 5' 8" and my ideal tope tube length for a track frame would be 50-51cm or therabouts.

• #17
It's because you're used to BMXs :-)
-
• #18
Where's the frame? How nice are we talking?

I'm 6' and need a 53-54cm frame.
I'm 6' and ride a 64 frame with a shorter top tube (57 on tourer, 60 on town bike). Sizing is very personal.

That's precisely my point.

Good points, well made.
Its the very last frame of that type (!) and I was thinking if I could get away with it, idk maybe raise the seat, put a longer stem? Would it work?
p.s. its a track frame and i want to train with it!
