  • BIG EMERGENCY OPPORTUNITY!
My car's fucked again and the only other people I know going to the epic Clunker Classic World Championship (10th edition) are 6-up in a transit van.

If you have a car and would love a beverage-fuelled bike-weekend at Porlock near Minehead, all you need is to pick me up Friday night, bring me back Sunday afternoon and have a suitably silly non-mountainbike. I'll be using my 24x16 fixie polo bike.

I can supply a tent, and a share of fuel, beer and tools.

Awesome if we could go as a group, text me on 07969222597 asap or ring me thursday morning.

edit: taking the train instead, polotime sometime nextweek if the bike and I survive!

  • What can I say! Thank you guys for two amazing Polo years in Manchester. I will miss you all very much! I will be with you in every tournament you will go to. It has been great laugh and i will make sure I will be back soon for some more of that! Big polo love! Marek :-)

sad now :( i'm sure i speak for everybody when i say you'll be sorely missed, dude. I've learnt so much from having you around, as I'm sure a lot of other people have. whoever tries to fill the gap you're leaving has a hell of a job on their hands. take care, truly hope to see you again soon.

  • can only mirror what Mazza says. Thanks alot Manchester, it's been such a journey. from shuffling around in carparks with Wayne and Craig to playing in Berlin worlds, and then Netto representing inBarca this weeked. Tonights tap-out was really awesome, was great to have all of the the proper polo contingent out. It doesnt feel like a real goodbye as Im gonna see most of you in Sheffield in two days anyway but thanks MCR Polo and good luck Marek.

  • Sad I couldn't be there, I'll miss you both, in fact I miss you both already

  • i cant play this week sorry guys

  • I'm well up for giving this a go but literally have o equipment or a suitable bike. What's the cheapest to get set up and ready to roll.

  • hey you lot (or whoevers left), im gonna be down for the weekend, is it worth bringing my polo bike?

  • I'm well up for giving this a go but literally have o equipment or a suitable bike. What's the cheapest to get set up and ready to roll.

Not much needed. single speed bike with as close to 1:1 ratio as you can get, very good back brake, quality rear tyre, any durable gloves, and some pads if you want to protect your knees but jeans are good enough.

Most important ingredient is : going for it

    1. cheapest ready to go bike is probably the Vitamin C Btwin (decathlon) i remember it costs £60 .

    2. another good choice * if youre around 5'6"or less is a steel Archie Wilkinson Speedway bike which costs £220

otherwise, any sort of bike which you can single speed and give a decent brake and which also does not have exposed chainrings, bar ends or stunt pegs or otherwise be unsafe for others will be good.
in upgrades down the line you will consider upgrading wheels, thicker/tougher tyres ( like $pecialised crossroad$ for 26 inch or nimbus for 700c) and a double-brake-single-lever set-up.

Saturday morning, from 10am. beginner sessions in chorlton park.

    Cost : 0

I'll be there, you can get a feel for things
