  • And even more evidence of how ever so slightly mental UCI have got; Pat McQ claiming chinese carbon frames worth £20 are making it onto £2.5k bikes and that QC and safety cannot be guaranteed all the way over there in those Asian factories.
    Says frames are too light and bouncy compared to old steel like what he used to ride.

    Bikes have become too light. They're hopping all over the place; they jump when they hit potholes or whatever. They don't have the same reactions as when we had the old steel bikes. If we continue to reduce the weight [of bikes, these problems] will increase.

    ahaha! So the difference between a steel bike and CF is much worse than the difference between either bike being ridden by, say Bert Grabsch or Andy Schleck.
