• Wondering if a rear hub I have knocking about (Gran Compe 120mm) will fit the rear drop-outs of a frame that's on its way. Frame is a Fuji Roubaix Pro, one of the earlier ones in Reynolds 853 that I'd like to make into a conversion. What problems might I have fitting a wheel built around this hub to this frame?

I've been searching online to find the measurement between the rear drop-outs for this frame but so far no joy. And obviously can't measure it yet before it arrives. What sort of range of play is there for fitting a 120mm rear hub into a 'normal' road frame to make a conversion?

Other thing is it has vertical (or at least semi-vertical) drop-outs. Thanks.

  • the main traingle is 853, the rear stays are fuji db chromoly. spaced at 130 so you'd have 5mm of cold setting on each side.

  • Cool, that's good to know, thanks. There should be enough flex in the rear stays for them to just pull in by 5mm on either side rather than actually cold setting, non?
