49CM Level 4 Team Track Bike

The frame, from what I've been able to work out, was hand-built by Terry Dolan (amazing filet brazing) for the Chris Boardman sponsored/managed 90s cycling team (Yvonne McGregor was riding for Level Four when she broke the one hour record in 1995). It's high-end tubing (I believe it's 853 - it's quite thin and this is what Dolan used to build McGregor's bike).

It takes a 650 front wheel (Miche Primato to Mavic Open 4CD running on a Gatorskin) and 700 rear (Currently XT bolt-on [22t right now, I think I have a 18 or 19t I can throw in] hub to Rigidia Sputnik, but I'll throw in a Miche to Open Pro which needs bearing replaced if you would like - in fact, I could probably include an extra Miche hub which has bearings in it if you're confident enough to do it yourself).

Shimano BB with Andle silver cranks (48t), YST HP233 Headset, GB shorty stem to black risers with blue Oury Grips. Campag Mirage front brake and Dirt Harry lever.

No seat post, no saddle, but I'll throw some pedals on it.

Paint has scratches (quite a few), a bit of grime on it, but overall is free of rust. You'll want to change the brake cable (it's sticky). I haven't noticed any dents or dings. Really, all it needs is a paint job and you've got a blinging bike. Or, leave it as is and it will look used, but loved.

£525 ONO will buy you a nearly one-of-a-kind professional track bike by Terry Dolan with real British (and international) cycling heritage - that's less than the cost of a Charge Plug.~~

    Other stuff:

    Shimano bits:

    Mis-matched Shimano (105 and 600) aero brakes (same shampe, you won't notice) - £5
    Shimano 105 Rear Mech - £5
Shimano 105 Front Mech (with band) - £5

Shimiano and TA 130 chainrings 3/32 (53 and 46t) the 53 Shimano is in better condition - £5

    Campag bits:

    Campag chainring (135) 53T 3/32 good condition - £5
Campag Record (10 speed era) front mech (braze-on) - £15
Campagnolo Chorus Square Taper BB 102mm - £15

    Other bits:

    Roto Rollers + Fork Stand - £65
Pair of Speed Dial 7 brake levers (brand new, still in sealed bag) - £10
Raleigh MK2 Cranks (cotter pin, good condition - these go for £20-30 on ebay from what I've seen) - £15
    Stronglight (100/99/98?) 86BCD cranks with chainrings (30, 32 [a bit chewed up], 42, 52 [new and unused]) - £25
Dirt Harry brake lever - £5
    20t cog - £5
    21t cog - £5
Problem solver brake doubler - £10
    3T 1" Stem 120 - £10
    Sakae positive rise 1" stem - £5
    ITM 90 1" stem - £10
3T super competizione drops Drops grey annodised finish. Grooved for cables. A couple of scratches, but good condition. I'm not sure where bars are measured from, so these are 42 CTC and 44 end to end. £15
Diacompe Bulldog long drop brake calliper - £5

Finally, I have some Campagnolo C-record (I believe, they have white hoods) brake levers. One hood has a tear. Neither lever has the plate that centres the cable and create a pivot (they are somewhere, but I can't find them! Argh!). Are these useless?

Pictures to come. I'll post at your cost.

  • Here's what the bike looked built up a couple of years ago. Different wheels, bars.

  • 3T stem:

    Campag rear mech:

  • Pictures of the frame. A lot of the marks you see are grime and can be cleaned off. I'm lazy. However, that being said, don't buy this bike for it's paint job (even though the pearl is fucking awesome), as it does have scratches.

  • Oh yeah, to give you an idea of the uniqueness of the frame, it's serial number is 6. Or 9. I can't tell.

  • Don't sell it!

  • dont suppose you would split? need a crank? and bb! cheeers

  • Was admiring this the other day.
    It is lovely as-is.

  • Don't sell it!

I wish! But, it's got to go.

  • dont suppose you would split? need a crank? and bb! cheeers

    Nope, sorry.

  • I wish! But, it's got to go.

Shame! This is a very nice frame set. Who ever buys it will be more than happy.
Wish I could add it to my collection as his would fit me better than the one I have that I have now stopped riding on the road. And they are very nice to ride on the track!

  • Btw, I'm off for the weekend tomorrow, so if anyone wants anything today would be a good day to get it!
