  • Its all such bollocks, all the hype gets me excited, listening to Haye and Klitz giving it some in the press conferences, I just could not wait. Then a pretty poor fight and now the excuses, haye you're pathetic - cue Haye rematch request and further jibes at one another... Despondent.

  • sky supposedly told people who had issues to find their nearest pub.

I hope this is true cos that is quality

  • Right time for bed, a good fight but Haye outclassed. Hope Team Sky can put Thomas in yellow tomorrow in the time trial might make up for getting up at 5am to watch a grown man blame his loss on a toe.

  • Should have told them to go on myp2p like most of the population

edit; woops, still reading previous page

    myp2p ftw!

  • "My foot's in absolute agony right now!"

"If it wasn't for those injuries..."

    Where have I heard that?

  • As a guy who did a bit of boxing, your feet are very important. In fact your footwork is the key to boxing as well as your technical ability with your hands.

However he is now an excuse maker. Time to retire.

He did try, but he is simply a cruiserweight, not a heavy. He is in between really, 200lbs kills him, and the 240 lb guys have that height and long reach that he struggles with. At 200 lbs his jab would probably reach people.

If his toe troubled him, it could explain his lack of balance and him falling a lot.

Wladamir is still boring. Tyson would beat him prime for prime. Haye showed some reflexes were enough to nullify Wlad to 2 or 3 hard punches a round max.

    Vitali is the better brother.

    1. True

    2. Bollocks. He kept falling cos he was over lunging due to the lack of reach

    3. True, a 21yo Tyson would floor him within 2

  • Mayweather not looking his silky self in the first round. Can see why he won't fight Manny.

  • Mayweather hits his stride in third. Stands his ground and schools Ortiz in the dark arts of defence countering well. Cracking fourth round. Ortiz has Mayweather on the ropes.Good fight this one. Wtf just happend. Ortiz gets point deducted for a head butt. Ortiz goes to touch gloves to apologise, Mayweather touches gloves then tags him once the judge allows him carry on and mayweather knocks out with the second. Im sure that finish will be on Question of Sport in the near future.

  • RIP smokin joe frazier

  • did anyone see the burns v katsides fight on saturday?

    apparently a cracker.

  • RIP smokin joe frazier

i copy that brother, a true champion - RIP x

  • Great fighter RIP.

  • Boxing on C5 now. Chris Eubank jr entering the ring to Tina Turner's simply the best. It's his bloody debut....

Tyson Fury up in a short while. Like the look of that guy, steady job and strong legs, potential to go all the way.

  • Looks like Eubank jr might be quite talented, the guy he was up against was as versatile as a sack of spuds though. But to have a pro debut like that isn't to be sniffed at, even more so considering he's only had 30 amateur fights.

  • How could I have missed this? RIP Smokin' Joe. God bless you. Joe hauled Ali over the coals in Manila. As well as an incredibly tough boxer he was also a humble man considering his history.

  • Fury vs Pajkic - A fight that will go down in the history books as a dazzling display of technique and guile.

  • Ref shouldn't have stopped that. It's the first time I've seen Tyson Fury fight and I can't really see him going anywhere to be honest. His defence is full of holes, he was standing square on half the time with his guard down, he's just a really big bloke that can take a few bangs and dish a few out. Unless Fury's technique improves vastly he'll get taken apart if he gets to meet any of the really good heavyweights. Mind you having said that unfortunately it's a division that's become a bit of a circus act over the past several years.

  • steady job and strong legs

    that's my online dating precis!

  • Pajkic seemingly had the repertoire of a brick (granted also as hard as a brick), Fury had plenty of warning that all the guy was going to do was throw overarm bombs and yet still walked in and got caught. Pre-fight, Fury fans where waxing lyrical about how he'd slap the Klitschko's about within a year.....really? He's got big leavers and that's all I can say, he got up from the knock down well but that's not really a quality you want to excel at is it?

    Great physique though.

  • Predictive text fail.

If Fury can improve that jab of his and keep his guard up than there won't be that many boxers that are able to match him, that's not indicator of how good he is but more of an indicator on how poor the heavyweights are these days. Klitschko brothers have dominated the division this way and they're not going to stick around for that much longer (not that Fury is in the same class as them). I reckon under the right tutelage Fury can go far.
