I think to show off polo as something fun and not something ridiculous you need 6 competent players to play an exciting and fast game. Three of us knocking the ball around pleading for beginners to join in will show the game in a negative light and be counterproductive imo. I first saw polo in these conditions and thought it was laughable and it put me off for years.
Also, I get one day a week off with the missus, which I usually half-fill with polo, so when turnout is shit I'd prefer to do that. Also also, the park guy and/or local football dads gave us grief last year, and I'd rather not stir the pot for the sake of an hour of the goalie game.
