  • would get it pretty close though. you could faff the geo a bit maybe, but a pair of straight forks with v brake mounts and clearance up to 42c-ish tyres, a crankset with bashguard and i'd say they were nearly there. it's not going to be absolute top of the range and probably pretty heavy/ugly but it would be popular with a lot of people starting out.

Exactly. Front/rear Vs, Ideally some double lever action (Its not hard to source a cheap beginner-friendly double lever, if thats the only issue) and all of the above, and that right there would be a perfectly acceptable polo bike. Its essentially what many of us are riding. That one post is closer to an actual polo bike than On One have ever got.

The fact that they arent interested in even offering that after we've offered to help them, that On One dont want to even research how to build an acceptable polo bike out of components they already sell, but would rather assume their new piece of shit frame is "good for polo" is exactly why I have no interest in letting them sponsor anything and will never recommend them to anyone.

when they are struggling to keep up with £1000+ builds I can't see a polo build being of much interest.

Have you checked out polo lately? There are plenty of >£1000 builds around, if thats what theyre interested in. The current leader on the on-one site is the £499 piece of shit we're all hating on. Polo has money, and On One are ignoring a market that has repeatedly approached them and would be happy to buy and recommend a £499 bike that was actually suitable for the things theyre claiming.
