wapiti, I don't see why you'd need to sell your lock and buy any other.
I think you´re right. I´ll stay with it.
IMO the NYL Standard is more practical and more variable than the Fahg Mini. -

Interested in the pragmasis chain this is how they show locked on bike radar not sure about length?

I'm not sure if this is the correct thread to post on, I thought there was a general locks thread but can't find it.
I'm looking for a lock similar to the Evo Mini, similar size, strength and weight (i.e. not a Fahg) but with locking on both sides rather than just the one like the Mini. I'm sure I've seen something like this mentioned on here somewhere but can't remember where.
Cheers for any help.

17mm shackle and an alarm built in.
(apologies if it has already been posted - I did a search and could not see that it had)

No views on it, but it is in the LIST, on the first page of this thread, in the first post.

I have no connection to the sale, but I noticed that a reseller is selling new Xena XUL340 Bullet locks cheaply on Ebay, as the alarm function does not work (presume they are seconds), hence it is just a D-lock.

Cheers, that's the one I was thinking of.
Wiggle has it down as a 16mm shackle. Does anyone know if that's true (I can't spot it in the list on the first page as you say)

Cheers. Though, I don't update the lists as often as I used to. Now its every few months, and maybe even yearly. This one will be every so many months.

I'm not sure your info is still correct on the Magnum Plus Mini:

The lock shackle is 16mm (with rubber sheath), but actually 13mm without. Therefore it is not recommended. You can cut it with a big bolt cutter.

Well done Yampa. Removing it from the list forthwith. Good to see the forum being so proactive.

seem a different one has 18mm diametre shackle.

The Halfords Magnum Plus MINI had fooled me. It had the same X4 barrel and lock, and externally appeared to be the OnGuard Brute Mini X4.
I've just been shown that it isn't.The Magnum 3000 you have illustrated is virtually the same as the OnGuard Brute STD 5001 X4, but 1mm thicker. Since Magnum own OnGuard, its unsurprising that there is some crossover.

Went to Evans yesterday and price matched on a NY 3000, Evolution mini and a Lezyne pump. Saved about £50 :)
Considering taking the Evolution back to be honest as i was hoping it would get round the frame front wheel and railing etc but doubt it.
Just got a price match to £53.91 for the NY 3000 from Evans, matched with Farnham cycles.

Thought what the hell and ordered one as a second lock to go with my main Abus. Will let you know what it is like when it arrives.
Here is the Kabrus Alarm D-lock - one on the left, next to the cheap 16mm BLOCK and my usual Abus Granit X54
Please note am no security expert and have not tested this to destruction - these are just my impressions as a user (and may very well be flawed!).
I may be wrong, but I am not overly convinced by it - certainly not as my primary security. it may be thick enough in the shackle (but even then am not sure it is really is 17mm), but it does not look that well secure, especially around the hinge - this is a hinge mechanism, the shackle does not come fully out
This is the button used to turn the alarm mechanism off and on (can't see where I replace the batteries) - which does not look that impervious to water either.
I suppose £29 for a 17mm (if it is 17mm) D-lock with a built in alarm is not that bad - but as said, will use it carefully with something else being the primary.
HOWEVER, the Blok that is also shown in the middle of the top picture does look very good value at £20 for a 16mm D-lock. Seems well made with good keys (Magnum keys - so presume this is one of their products). It is a very big lock, so would need some filling to make it more secure. I would have more trust of that, than the Kabrus.
As said, am no security expert - so if someone knows that these two locks are easily compromised, please post and correct me.
EDIT: Note I have now seen the Blok on sale for £14. Which seems to be a bit of a bargain.

I have a question concerning the Fagh Mini: Does it need one or two cuts to defeat it?
Bikeradar writes: "Unlike the excellent Abus, in test two this one only required the **one cut ...".
vs.
Kryptonite: "Double **deadbolt locking for extensive holding power".
Any explanations? -
