I'm interested but keyless, give me time.
Any way you can fit your own pedals to a Boris bike? Only ride clipless, innit.(^sort of a joke, but sort of not)
-
• #53
I don't think you can fit your own pedals
-
• #54
oh jesus, no you can't customise the boris bikes
-
• #55
Gaffa tape around the pedals to make straps?
One idea was to go to the northernmost docking station (Camden), do a North's Death TT, so up Swains Lane, pint at the Flask, then down Highgate West Hill, first one to dock back is the winner. And call it "Death by Boris"

Why stop at that? Go for epic - start at the stands by the Roebuck (SEs), through town, swap bikes, TT, pint, dock, fin.

I reckon docking points as checks would be the way to go. That way you can stay in the free 30 min usage....

I've been talking about doing something like this for a while. Was thinking about a multi stage event...sprints, hill climb, individual and team TT.
If only I could be arsed/had the time to organise it.

It's been done. :-) On GSAID v 7th of Mayhem, my friend who was visiting had tubs* on her bike and got a flat between Souths and South-easts. Got a boris bike to keep going. Next stop - Norths at the top of Swains**
What would be great is a head-to-head of Boris bikes going up Swains. I'm totally in for a Boris-cat!
*she has since come to her senses and replaced them with regular tubes/tires.
**forum peeps are great and she never bought her own drinks after that -

That's what I was getting at. Basically this: Rollapaluza Urban Hill Climb on Vimeo
But on Boris Bikes.

Step away from the thread, Mick, this is a Boris Bike alleycat, not a hill climb race like you weirdly enjoy.

I tired a few Boris Bikes on Sunday for the first time, gears seem a bit pointless but I was impressed, great fun nipping around on them and not having to worry about locking up etc. Only pain was finding a docking station when I got back to Victoria.
