What's that "It's not all about the bike" thing, then?
It's not about the bike is a not-for-profit scheme run by Norwich City Council. Where the unemployed, those with learning difficulties, the ex-offender and other members of the public can meet up socially and obtain a refurbished bicycle.
Old abandoned bikes are collected from around Norwich, and taken down to the workshop at 6 Beckham Place, Edward street, Norwich. Where on a Wednesday between 10am and 3pm you can select a bike and refurbish a bike for yourself from the many piled up in the corner with parts scavenged from complete scrapers.
There are several instructors/helpers who ensure that the refurbished bikes are correctly assembled and road worthy before leaving the workshop.
I go down there and help out a bit whenever I am not busy on a Wednesday.
