Yep the Boundary Estate is lovely- Arnold Circus in the middle is built on a pile of rubble of the former tenements. It's also on a couple of ley lines (my personal favourite fact about the place). Twas indeed Britain's first social housing estate and is covered in this documentary:

Coincidentally, it's only online for one more day! The doc goes from the Boundary Estate to the Heygate and looks as how social housing developed in Britain. It's beautifully shot but the presenter drove me nuts- he needs to learn how to pronounce a 'G'
