  • Those of us with real experience under our belts have learnt what is and isn't acceptable to do in a given situation. We read what is/will and may happen all the time, awareness is not instant. It comes from previous mistakes. Cycle training and all the rules therein are just a saftely zone for new cyclists. You learn overtime what you can do.

    I ride brakless so I can skid. I skid because I am a child at heart. I am a child and I want to have fun.

    Although I basically agree with you the problem is people thinking they are experienced when they aren't (to quote a guy I pulled up about riding single brake fixed with no foot retention: "I know what I'm doing, i've been riding fixed for a year now!")... I'm including myself, I thought I was experienced last year, I was wrong.

    How can you be sure you are?

    Also if someone lent on my car I'd kill them in the face, except maybe piggy. :)
