Not sure whether to bite or not. The forum's stance on Unipack and the like is well known and what would the reaction be if they were allowed to advertise here? You're right that it's velocio's forum and he can do whatever he likes with it but personally I find the choice a bit strange. Forum donations are a nice thing and the banners were meant for small forum related businesses IIRC, not sure if made.com is. But like you said I leave VB to deal with that. I'll mind my own business from now on.
