    Reviews:

So Close (aka CRYSTAL WARRIORS aka Virtual Twilight) - Pretty oriental girls do high kicks, and there is some story about girls against high tech mob. It is dross. Best watched when high. Giggle your way through it. Otherwise, avoid it like the plague.
Returner - Girl goes back in time to save an alien. Rounds up modern day samirai tio help. No redeeming features.
Hard Revenge Milly 1 & 2 - Live action manga, about a robotic/android girl, who is set on revenge for those who mutilated her. Lots and lots of comedy ketchup.
Ashura - Demon slayers versus human demons. The demons spew loads of flourescent green blood. Extremely silly.

Pistol Opera - An opera that took me completely by surprise. A very disjointed film, but purposefully so. Steel band and reggae music play against a Japanese backdrop, of intrigue amongst a secret band of assissins. Quite unique, and because of its weirdness, challenging to watch. For me, it is the filmic version of improv-jazz. A keeper.....for me, but definitely not light entertainment.
Manji - Categorically the most erotic film I have ever seen. The shots of one woman gazing lustfully at the nudity of another, has never been captured quite this sensitively as this, IMO. Shot entirely in tight shots, it gives a claustrophobic mood. A married woman falls in love with a younger female art student. This leads to all sorts of jealousies and intrigue. A absolute keeper.
The Realm Of The Senses - A film in which there there is non-stop graphic sex from the outset. And yet, its only at the end, after watching sex, followed by more sex, and yet more sex, that one realises at the end, that the act led the viewer to discover the real meaning of the movie. And sex is not the actual message at all. I won't give away anymore, but it is brilliant. I saw it at the Prince Charles Cinema many years ago, even though it was denied a certificate for this country. Absolutely brilliant.

    Irezumi - to follow
    Mountain Patrol - to follow
